DRC Utility
The DRC Utility allows designers to automate the time-consuming task of checking designs for continuity and proper clearances. It can be used to extract a net list from a manually-routed board, compare two net lists for discrepancies, or check a board against a reference net list. Using the computer for checking allows the designer to run checks that might have otherwise been too time-consuming, freeing-up precious design time.
Features:
- Separate, user-defined values for pad-to-pad, pad-to-trace, and trace-to-trace clearances
- User-definable overlap value for determining continuity
- Adjustable search depth to control speed and thoroughness of each check
- Error report gives absolute coordinates of both clearance violations and poor connections
- Graphic indicators in a layout error file make problem spots even easier to find
