GerberIn GerberIn allows designs from other CAD systems to be imported into Professional Layout. Flash aperture assignments can be made to custom Pad palettes in Layout (this allows adding holes globally, and creating complex shapes such as allignment targets) or represented as simple round or square flash elements directly on the layout. This high accuracy translation may then be edited in Layout using the full complement of editing tools that makes Professional Layout such a pleasure to use. PictIn Utility PictIn allows importing pictures such as company logos or special symbols into Professional Layout. The program reads a standard PICT formated file and allows conversion to either the component or solder side of the layout. PCB layouts from books and magazines may be scanned as a PICT file and imported to create a template for creating a layout, and once in the Professional Layout format, the full complement of editing tools are available. Logos and frequently used items may be defined as library and/or vector text items, making them easy to use again and again. The program supports scaling from 25% to 400%, mirroring across X and Y axes and flexible control of file size versus resolution. Filters are also included to fill in lone missing pixels, remove lone isolated pixels, and smooth edges, prior to conversion.
